I am sick...homesick that is

So I have been in Kansas now for about a month and the homesickness has hit me pretty hard this week. It is such a bad place to be because I know that it hurts my husband when I talk about it, but I can't help that I don't feel like this is home right now. I hope that one day I will feel this way but a part of me doesn't think I ever will.

Other than being homesick, things are going good. I really like my job and all the people that I work with. My boss is great! He really knows how to keep the office fun and full of life. He is a great person to work for and I am truly blessed for the opportunity that I have been given here. The DCE team and Kansas State has really made me feel at ease and also made the "homesickness" not be as hard.

The house hunt is on hold for now because we need to get the down payment together, so until then we are living at Matt's parents. It has been a true adjustment, but so far it hasn't been too bad.

I have about 2 weeks until I am back home and can't wait. I miss my family so much and can't wait to see them! I am going to end this with some pics of the last time I was home.

Emma loves "the boys" at the gig'em aggie games

Daddy and his girls

The only picture I took at my 10 year reunion, but it is with one of my favorite people in this world!

Hang in there! Over time, Kansas will become your home...or at least your second home. After you live in Texas, can anything ever really top that? :) Sorry we didn't get to hang out all that much, but I'm sure our paths will cross at some point!

Miss you tons! It will take to feel adjusted and at home in KS again, but God brought y'all back for a reason. Praying you continue to adjust and feel comfortable again soon! Yay for saving for a down payment!!! Love that pic of us!! Miss you. We will come visit soon...promise!!

I would be SO homesick too...visiting Kansas is one thing...living there is another! I'm glad you like you're job...that's gotta make it easier! Hope you enjoy being home at Thanksgiving!!

Hey there - caught your blog post and just wanted to say that I definitely know how you feel (being away from Texas and my Texas fam for over 5 years now). Hang in there!! It will get easier, and it will start to feel more and more like home. :)

I just saw this and wanted to say, hang in there! I completely understand how you feel, just the other way around. Texas is nice, but I miss Kansas so much! We've been here 6 months and it is getting easier, except for when we have to miss something that's going on back home.
